Kadastra cookie policy

Version of 18 October 2026 — replaces the version of 4 October 2026

Translation. This policy has been translated from French. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version is binding.

1. Principle

1.1 A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. Related technologies, such as the browser's local storage, make it possible to remember information in the same way.

1.2 Kadastra only uses the cookies and storage that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service or for a feature you have expressly requested. We use no audience measurement, advertising, social network or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics tool. That is why the Service displays no consent banner.

1.3 This policy informs you in accordance with Article 45c of the Federal Telecommunications Act. For persons located in the European Union, the cookies described below fall under the consent exemption for strictly necessary cookies (Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and the national provisions transposing it). This policy supplements our privacy policy.

2. Cookies and storage used

Name Type Purpose Duration
kadastra_session Cookie Keeping you signed in to your account. It contains a random identifier, with no readable personal data, and is accessible to the server only. 30 days at most, or until you sign out
kadastra_locale Cookie Remembering the display language (French, German or English) you have chosen, including before signing in. It is only set when you select a language. 12 months
kadastra.install-banner.dismissed Local storage No longer offering to install the application on your home screen once you have declined. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. Until you erase it yourself
kadastra.alertes.portee Local storage Remembering the tab of the alerts page you last chose (“My parcels” or “Municipal”). This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. Until you erase it yourself
kadastra-shell-v1 Browser cache (service worker) Allowing the application to open when the connection is interrupted. It contains only the files of the interface (pages, code, styles, icons); your account data, your parcels and your alerts are never stored in it. Until it is replaced by a new version of the application or you erase it yourself

3. Third-party services

3.1 Map. Base maps are loaded by your browser directly from the servers of the Federal Office of Topography swisstopo, under its own terms of use (see Article 5 of the privacy policy). To our knowledge, these requests do not place any cookie on your device.

3.2 Payment. When subscribing, you are redirected to Stripe's secure payment page (checkout.stripe.com). That page, which is not part of the Service, uses its own cookies, in particular for fraud prevention, under Stripe's policy (stripe.com/privacy and stripe.com/cookies-policy).

4. Refusing or deleting cookies

You may delete cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings, or block them there.

  • Refusing the kadastra_session cookie prevents signing in to your account.
  • Refusing the kadastra_locale cookie returns the display to the default language.

5. Changes

Should we one day use other cookies, this policy would be updated beforehand. Where the applicable law requires it, your consent would be obtained before they are placed.
